RINCON LOG

Combines speed and trim with nose riding and rail turns, great for versatile longboarding.

Developed from surfing Rincon at Bells Beach, I needed a board that would maintain speed and trim through faster sections whilst being able to nose ride and turn on rail when the wave slows down.

The Rincon longboard has been designed to have a neutral rocker and foil from nose to tail. The balanced rocker and foil allows you to actively use the entirety of the surfboard. Utilising glide from the centre forward, elevation from the nose concave and responsiveness from the tail. All without having to surf around a break in the bottom line.  Earlier tail curve has been added to the board to surf on rail throughout turns as well as being able to pivot off the fin when needed. The rails are a little fuller and less pinched to minimise tracking throughout rail turns where thin pinched rails would roll onto rail and project straight.
Throughout the middle of the board I run a central flat plan with roll off the sides. This flat helps the board sit on top of the central planning surface rather than sitting into the water like a traditional hull. Helping the board trim and carry its speed through longer sections.

If you’re looking for a well balanced log that isn’t solely focused on one aspect of longboarding, this would be the most suited in my range.

CUSTOM GLIDER ORDER

ORDER PROCESS

Ordering typically begins with a face-to-face consultation at my studio in Bells Beach. Alternatively, the consultation can take part over email or a phone call. During this process we discuss all the adjustments needed to make the board specific to the surfer.
Turnaround time is around 8 to 10 weeks depending on current work load.

COLOUR

Colour work is a way for me to have a dual response to board expression. Studying Josef Albers ‘Interaction of Colour’ and working with my father Simon Buttonshaw and brother Raphael Buttonshaw, deepened my exploration of colour and its relationship to how surfboards look and feel in the ocean. We can discuss this further throughout the ordering process to find a colourway that connects with you.

FINS

For an all round fin I would recommend using a JCG9 or a JCG10 glide fin. This fin gives you a good balance between hold and manoeuvrability. If you are looking for a more nose rider specific fin I would recommend the GX10. This fin gives allot of hold and control with nose riding.
